Bettie Darlene Talbert, 91, of Montezuma passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 31, 2021 at her home. Bettie Darlene Stanford was born on February 2, 1930 to Floyd and Marguerite Stanford at Barnes City, Iowa.

Bettie attended Montezuma High School.

On October 7, 1949, Bettie and Russell Talbert were united in marriage and to this union two children were born, Russell, Jr. and Ricky.

Bettie worked at Maid Rite, The Party House, owned and managed Milk Shake, Dieomatic and Picadilly Pizza later known as Russell T’s pizza for 28 years along side her son.

Bettie enjoyed her horses, western TV shows, and an avid animal lover of all sizes. Her pride and joy were her family and dogs.

Bettie is survived by her son, Ricky Talbert of Montezuma; her grandchildren, Rachel Perez of Montezuma, Rebekah (Ben) Fogt of Rinebeck, IA; and Colton Talbert of Montezuma; great grandchildren, Kieren, Jaylah, Mason, Elliott, Rylan and Jaxton.
Bettie is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and son Russell Talbert Jr.

As was Bettie’s wish, her body has been cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Jackson Church of Christ in Montezuma.
A visitation/luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department or the Jackson Church of Christ.
