NM Players Earn All-District Honors

Iowa High School Baseball Coaches association released its all-district teams this week. Four North Mahaska players earned honors on the first or second team. One player, Ty Kelderman, was named to the all-state Academic First Team.

Seniors Blake Readshaw and Dylan Klinker earned first team honors for the Southeast District. Readshaw earned the honor with a 6-1 pitching record. Klinker was named a s a catcher. Klinker batted .458 at the plate for the season.

Junior Sam Terpstra at shortstop earned first team honors. He batted .457 for the Warhawks, who reached the substate final this season.

Kelderman, a senior, was named to the second team all-district as a third baseman. He batted .362 and also saw time on the mound as a pitcher. He was one of 24 players named to the first team all-academic and the only South Iowa Cedar League player named for either first or second teams. First team consists of the top 24 players, nominated by their coaches, who demonstrate outstanding academic, moral, and athletic characteristics. The next 21 players receive a second team all-academic certificate.
