Nancy Lee Clouse, age 77, of Albia, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. Nancy was born on November 6, 1943, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Centerville, IA, to William “Bill” and Hazel (Peterson) Steffen.
Nancy grew up and attended school in Moravia, graduating from the Moravia High School with the Class of 1962.
On August 10, 1962, she was united in marriage to John Arthur Clouse at the First Christian Church in Albia. Nancy and John shared 57 years of marriage prior to his passing on October 24, 2019.
Nancy was a member of the First Christian Church in Albia and the Hospice Auxiliary. She had a passion for flea markets and garage sales, even if it meant traveling to different towns. Nancy was also a collector of cookbooks and recipes, and enjoyed couponing.
Nancy is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, Bill and Hazel Steffen; and a sister, Margaret Jordan.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, with Pastor Dennis Doud officiating.
A procession will form at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia at 10:30 a.m. for those wishing to attend the graveside service.
A memorial has been established to Care Initiatives Hospice.
