Helen Margaret Teno, age 90, of Eddyville, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Helen was born on April 18, 1930, in Bluff Creek Township of Monroe County to Mike and Susie Strasko.

On October 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to George Teno Sr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage and two sons, George Jr. and Steve. Her husband, George Sr. passed away on November 10, 2012 and her son, George Jr. passed away on May 16, 2020.

Helen was a homemaker and farmed with her husband and sons, doing what she loved. One of her talents was cooking and growing a garden.

Helen is survived by a son, Steve (& Pam) Teno of Albia; 2 step grandchildren, Jeremy (& Tabatha) Bricker and Joe (& Kim) Bricker; 3 step great grandchildren: Ryleigh (& Joe), Logan, and Sydney; a step great-great grandchild, Braxton; and 2 special nieces, Linda Foster and Jeanie Teno.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; a son, George Teno Jr.; her parents, Mike and Susie Strasko; 2 sisters, Ann Engel and Leona Wadle; and 2 nephews, Ed Engel and Jim Engel.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia, with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. officiating.
Burial will follow services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia.
