Damion Shane Marsh, 36, of Goodyear, Arizona died on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at Abrazo West Campus Hospital. Damion was born in Iowa City on August 12th, 1984 to Patricia F. Marsh and Kevin S. Ebert. After his mother’s death in 1995 (Patricia Marsh), Damion was raised by his Aunt Lorraine, along with her children Joey and Kelena; also, by Aunt Shari and Uncle Richard, along with their daughter, Nicole. He also spent some time in an all-boys home; Four Oaks, out of Cedar Rapids.

Damion graduated in 2003 from Marshalltown High School.

Damion was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He even had a dog at one time and named it KC. He was very excited that KC Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year. Damion enjoyed spending time with friends. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh.

Damion was about to start a new job at Amazon; he was very proud and excited to get back to work.

He will be missed by his girlfriend, Desire Aquilar-Alvarez; two sisters on his mother’s side, Jamie L. Frits of Des Moines and Kalie Ann Marie (Marsh) Parker of Altoona; nephew, Emerson Parker of Altoona; his father, Kevin Ebert of Grinnell; two brothers on his father’s side, Kevin Russell Ebert and Ryan Peak; former step-dad, Warren Frits, of Ottumwa; three uncles: Richard Marsh and Jeff Ebert, of Grinnell, and Donald Patton (& wife Catherine) of Iowa City; aunts: Erin (Marsh) Spencer (& husband Jimmy) of Trenton, Tennessee, Lorraine Patten, of Bondurant, Linda Gerard of Grinnell and Rhonda (Ebert) Bair of Grinnell. Shari Moorman (former wife of Richard) of Newton, and Angie Shipp (widow of Mike Marsh) of Cedar Rapids; one grandmother, Carol Ebert of Grinnell; and many cousins.

Damion was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia F. Marsh; an uncle, Michael Marsh; grandmother, Betty (Cline) Evans; grandfathers, William Marsh, Richard Ebert; and step-grandfather, James Evans.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with Rev. John Epperson officiating.
Burial will be held in the Masonic 100F Cemetery in Montezuma.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Abrazo West Campus Hospital in Arizona, for the incredible care provided to Damion. The family also appreciates all of the prayers, concerns and help that has been extended to them during this time.
