Anne Marie Carrat, 82, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, February 12, 2021, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born October 9, 1938, in Chateauraoux, France, the daughter of Rene and Jacqueline Roger Carrat.

Anne grew up and graduated from high school in France.

In 1968, she moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Once in Connecticut she managed a cafeteria in a factory. She later worked at the Danbury Country Club in Connecticut. In 2009, she retired from the country club and moved to Oskaloosa.

Anne was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed shopping, watching television, and tending to her flower gardens. She had a great sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling all over with her family.

Her family includes her four sisters: Bernadete Carrat of Chateauroux, France, Solange Anziano of Fairfield, Connecticut, Therese Karr of Danbury, Connecticut, and Helene (& Larry) Mitrisin of Oskaloosa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Kevin Mitrisin and Trevor Travis; and two brothers-in-law, John Anziano and Bill Karr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Troy Richmond officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
The funeral will be posted to the Bates Funeral Chapel’s YouTube page for those unable to attend.
Visitation with the family present will be held on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 1:30.
Memorials may be made to MHP Hospice Serenity House.
