Delores J. Sarver, 73, of Rose Hill passed away at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Monday, November 30, 2020. She was born May 23, 1947, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the daughter of Melvin and Mary (Mars) Ensor.
Delores graduated from Omaha Technical High School in Omaha, with the class of 1966. Early on she worked at Amana Refrigeration in Amana, Iowa.
On March 18, 1972, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Sarver at a country church near Millersburg, Iowa.
Following their marriage and once her kids were in school, Delores started her own house cleaning business. She cleaned homes in Oskaloosa for several years and retired from that in the early 2000’s. She also did some in-home care for a few elderly people living in Oskaloosa.
Delores was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. To get through the long winters, Delores enjoyed passing time putting jigsaw puzzles together. She also enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking.
Her family includes her husband, Kenneth; two children: Carla (& Stuart) Anderson of Oskaloosa and Douglas Sarver of Oskaloosa; one granddaughter, Alex Smith; nine siblings: Melvin (& Liz) Ensor of Seattle, Washington, Bonnie (& Dave) Jordan of Johnson, Nebraska, Rose (& Lyle) Snakenberg of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dennis (& Jean) Ensor of Springfield, Nebraska, Carl (& Patty) Ensor of Crete, Nebraska, Donna Nielsen of Seattle, Washington, Don (& Carol) Ensor of Tecumseh, Nebraska, Albert (& Brenda) Ensor of Auburn, Nebraska, Raymond Ensor of Tecumseh, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Loretta (& Steve) Pope of Tecumseh, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Nicole Anderson; and a brother, Darrell Ensor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Cox officiating.
Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery south of Rose Hill. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
The funeral service will be live streamed at the funeral home’s YouTube Channel for those wishing to support the family from a distance.
Visitation will begin Saturday, December 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church with the family in attendance to greet friends and relatives until service time.
