North Mahaska Prepares for Homecoming Week
NEW SHARON – North Mahaska will be using a musical theme as they celebrate homecoming Sept. 28-Oct. 2. The theme for the week is “Turn it up for a Touchdown.” Dress up days, special events and individual class themes will be among the highlights.
Class themes for the junior-senior high classes include, seniors-oldies; juniors-rock; sophomores-country; freshmen-pop; eighth-rap; and seventh-disco.
Dress-up days include Monday: Student-staff Swap Day in which students dress as teachers and teachers as students. Tuesday: Tie-dye Day, tie-dye wear encouraged. Wednesday: Class Theme – students to dress according to their class’s theme. Thursday: Throwback Thursday allows students to dress as they did in elementary. Friday: Spirit Day-Dress in red and white.
Homecoming planners will host four events for the week. Tuesday is game night followed by the annual powderpuff games; Wednesday is movie day; Thursday will be coronation night with king and queen named followed by a lip-sync contest. Friday is gameday with the Warhawks hosting BCLUW at 7 p.m.
