Statesmen Compete in Final Tune-Up Before Heart Championships

Seward, Neb.—WPU Track and Field had a final tune-up before the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships next weekend as they took on the field at the Concordia Invite.

In the sprints, Zac Jackson-Richardson (Jr., Germantown, Md.) was the highest finisher for the men as he placed 13th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.24 seconds. Josh Ogden (Fr., Sarasota, Fla.) was not far behind him as he finished 24th in a time of 23.70 seconds. In the hurdles, Loubert Dagrin (Fr.) pulled out a third-place finish as he did so in a time of 8.41 seconds.

Sage Ehresman (Sr., Sully, Iowa, Exercise Science) paced his squad in the throws as he placed seventh in the shot put with a distance of 51-08.25 feet.

On the women’s side, Kayla Music (So., Corpus Christi, Texas) placed 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.24 seconds while Raven Williams (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) was just behind her with a time of 27.57, good enough for a 17th place finish.

Shelbie Williams (Jr., Hedrick, Iowa) threw the shot put for WPU as she came in at 16th place with a measurement of 40-6.25 feet.

Next Up: William Penn will compete In the Heart Indoor Championships in Maryville, Missouri starting next Friday.
