Carol S. McNeese, 74, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born August 8, 1945, in Mahaska County, the daughter of Merrill and Lydia Ann Winegardner Sarver.

Carol graduated from Oskaloosa High School. Early on she worked at the old Continental Overall Factory in Oskaloosa.

On May 3, 1967, she was united in marriage to William McNeese in Mahaska County. To this union two daughters were born Rhonda and Shelli.

For many years Carol stayed home to care for her home and family. After 14 years of marriage, William and Carol parted ways. At that time Carol started cleaning homes for people in Mahaska County.

She enjoyed walking, biking and solving word puzzles. She was from a large family and family was very important to her, she always looked forward to family gatherings. She was not much for staying at home and was always looking for an excuse to go somewhere in the car.

Her family includes her two daughters and their husbands: Rhonda and Richard Harris of Oskaloosa and Shelli and Khamsone Cavan of Rock Hill, South Carolina; four grandchildren: Kristen (& Paul) Feeney, Kylee Harris, Lanie Cavan, and Ryder Cavan; two great grandchildren, Quintyn Feeney and Abreha Cavan; brothers and sisters: Marsha Leffel of Eagle Point, Oregon, Betty (& Ben) Shaw of Sundown, Texas, Joyce Galloway of Ottumwa, Nancy (& Greg) Lauser of Prescott, Wisconsin, Wallace Sarver of California, Larry (& Patty) Sarver of Oskaloosa, Roger (& Barbara) Sarver of Oskaloosa, Dan (& Susan) Sarver of Indianola, Ed (& Glenys) Sarver of University Park, Stephen (& Diana) Sarver of Albia, Timothy (& Lynna) Sarver of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Curt (& Kristen) Sarver of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Roberta Wolfe, Connie Kirin, Lonnie Sarver, David Sarver, and Jeffrey Sarver.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Burial will be in the University Park Cemetery in University Park. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family present will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 until service time at 11:00 in the Bates Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to MHP Hospice Serenity House.
