Petkovich named Central’s first men’s soccer All-American
PELLA—The United Soccer Coaches released its Division III All-America squads Thursday afternoon and Central College men’s soccer senior defender Taylor Petkovich (Littleton, Colo., Heritage HS) became the program’s first-ever All-American honoree.
He was a third-team selection.
One of 47 players across the nation recognized, Petkovich was among 10 defenders honored. Petkovich was one of two American Rivers Conference players selected.
Defensively, Petkovich helped Central’s defensi hold opponents to just 24 goals in 20 games. He played 1,567 minutes in the field as Central went 14-2-2 and won the program’s first American Rivers Conference title.
On the offensive end, Petkovich scored one goal in the regular season finale against Buena Vista University. He also totaled six assists in 20 starts.
Previously this postseason, Petkovich was named first team all-North Region by the United Soccer Coaches. He was also chosen as the American Rivers Conference Defensive MVP and a first-team all-conference performer.
