Doreen Bolinger, 72, of What Cheer, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Keokuk County Health Center. Doreen Mae Bolinger was born April 26, 1947 in Wilks-barre, PA, the daughter of John and Vera Umlah.
Doreen graduated high school. After high school she moved to Iowa to attend Central College.
Doreen was married to Glen Olin, however he died at a young age in 1971. She was then united in marriage to Lowell Dean Bolinger in Martinsburg in 1972. To this union three sons were born: Jason, Jeremy, and Josh.
Over the years Doreen worked at Kingsbury Holmes, Montezuma Manufacturing, Sieda, Midland Metals and Vriendschap Village. After her boys were old enough to care for themselves Doreen finished pursuing her degree in Accounting and Business Administration. In 1996 Doreen maintained a 4.0 GPA and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from William Penn College.
Doreen was a Boy Scout Leader for over ten years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning and cooking.
Doreen is survived by her husband Dean Bolinger of What Cheer, her sons, Jason Bolinger of Ottumwa, Jeremy (Tonda) Bolinger of What Cheer, and Josh Bolinger of Ottumwa, and Mark (Lori) Milligan of Fremont. She also leaves behind two grandsons Zachery and Kaleb Bolinger.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a husband Glen Olin.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer.
No funeral service is planned.
Burial will be held privately.
