8th Grade Girls BB Faces Off Against Tough Opponents
by Alex Knoot
The girls were in action the Monday and Tuesday before break against our two toughest opponents so far.
Monday the girls were at Pella for two games.
The first game was a battle and the girls struggled to get good looks in the first quarter. Pella brought more pressure than we have seen this year and we struggled to control the ball. Working hard and hustling is never a problem for these girls and they battled the whole time. With a nice run in the 3rd it got close but ultimately fell short losing 28 to 41.
Record 4-1

Haylee Parker – 13 points
Cadence Grubb – 6 points
Ireland McGraw – 4 points
Cylee Smith – 3 points
Leah Lorentzen – 2 points
In the second game the girls came out and handled the pressure well! We moved the ball up the court and had lots of fast breaks. Also the girls put forth a great rebounding effort and moved the ball around well. We controlled the whole game and came out on top, winning 22 to 7.

We were at Norwalk on Tuesday for 3 games.
This was another solid team that brought lots of pressure. The girls made a big improvement from Monday to Tuesday handling the press and taking care of the ball. We moved well up the court and had a good battle the whole game. The girls got it to a 3 point game late but fell short 29 to 35.
