Indians Start Season With Two Wins At Home

The Oskaloosa Volleyball team started off the 2017 season with two victories at home on Tuesday evening. The Indians beat Colfax-Mingo 25-22, 25-19. The second victory would take three sets to win 15-25, 25-19, 15-10. With many new faces on the court, the girls had a lot of jitters we worked through as the night progressed. I was impressed with our improvement in just two matches. These athletes are getting a sense of what varsity competition will look like and how it feels to play in front of our home crowd. Our come-back win over Carlisle was huge because it showed the fight these girls have and how they pull together as a team to play hard for the win.

The JV team put two in the win column with sweeps of Colfax-Mingo and Carlisle.

All teams will be in action on Thursday as Bondurant-Farrar comes to town. Freshmen and JV play at 5:30, followed by Varsity at 7:15. Please plan to come out and support the Indians on Thursday!
