Ruth Jean Smith was released from her earthly body to join her mother and stepfather in Heaven on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Ruth Jean was born on January 16, 1961 to Dorothy (Asher) and Robert Smith in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Ruth was born as a very special person and even with her disabilities, was a loving, caring person throughout her life.

Ruth Jean returned to Oskaloosa in April of 1994 and resided at Diamond Place of Imagine the Possibilities. She also worked for Imagine the Possibilities until her health prevented that.

Ruth Jean enjoyed music, Disney cartoons, stuffed animals and having photos of her family. She was an important part of the “family “of Diamond Place, Ruth Jean loved the staff and residents and she will lovingly be remembered by her “family” there.

Ruth Jean was dearly loved by her Mother and Stepfather, Dorothy and Louis Flock. Her mother, Dorothy, kept in contact with her until the time of her mother’s death.

Ruth Jean was preceded in death by her mother, her father and step-father.

A private celebration of Ruth Jean’s life will be held at Imagine the Possibilities, Diamond Place.
Burial of her cremated remains will be with her mother and step-father’s cremated remains in Nebraska.
