Girl Scout cookie sales may be over for the year, but Oskaloosa Girl Scouts can help you out with your sweet tooth needs! The organization will sponsor a dessert auction in March to raise funds to send Oskaloosa girls to camp. The auction will be held on Saturday, March 29 at the Assembly of God Church at noon and will continue until all desserts have been sold.

Individuals and businesses wishing to donate desserts to Girl Scouts for the event should bring those items to the church beginning at 11 a.m. the day of the event.

In conjunction with the auction, Oskaloosa Girl Scouts are invited to participate in a cake decorating contest to test their baking/decorating skills. Cakes will be judged in five categories – most creative, TV/Movie theme, animals, best use of Girl Scout cookies and best use of a Girl Scout theme. All cakes made by girls will also be auctioned.

Other activities for families to enjoy during the event include face painting, hair coloring and Barnyard Billy. Tax forms will be available for those spending more than $25.00 at the event.

Walking tacos, hot dogs and other baked goods will also be sold to those attending.

Anyone with questions about the event or wanting to donate a dessert should contact Oskaloosa Girl Scouts at OskaloosaGirlScouts@gmail.com or call and leave a message at 641-295-3519.
