#3 Story of the 2012-2013 Year
Oskaloosa–Academia pops onto the scene at #3 as impressive performances OFF the field of play are headlined.
A total of 22 individuals were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes by owning 3.5 Grade Point Averages. Softball led all squads with four award-winners.
At the end of the school year, all varsity participants with 3.2 GPAs were also honored by the Midwest Collegiate Conference. William Penn notched 81 of those recipients, including 11 from baseball.
Members of the navy and gold were also found on Capitol One CoSIDA Academic All-America squads. Brock Peery and Mason Woods were First-Team Academic All-American football players, while fellow gridiron star Evan Ressler collected a Second-Team honor. Cassie Lohman and KC Routos were both Academic All-District 5 picks in softball, and Valinn McReynolds was a district honoree in cross country/track and field. The Academic All-America program honors student-athletes for their successes in the classroom and on the playing field.
The softball and men’s golf teams were also very strong as collective units, earning NAIA Scholar Team recognition.
