On Thursday, May 10th, 2018, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a 14-year-old female that she had been sexually assaulted in March of 2018. The juvenile reported that this assault occurred at a rural Eddyville address within Mahaska County.

Following an investigation in this matter, Sheriff’s Officials arrested 18-year-old Ean James Beenken of 1595 305th Street, Eddyville, Iowa, charging him with: 1 count of Sexual  Abuse in the 3rd Degree (class D felony), 1 count of Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse (aggravated misdemeanor), and 1 count of Indecent Exposure (serious misdemeanor). Beenken was arrested at approximately 2 p.m. this date in the 1700 block of Indian Way, Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Beenken was taken to the Mahaska County Jail and will make his initial appearance in the Mahaska County Magistrate’s Court on Friday, May 25th, 2018. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

***As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
