Osky Girls Bowling Season Ends

by Tony Witt

The Oskaloosa Girls Bowling team season came to an end today at the state qualifying meet in Keokuk. The Osky girls were within reach of the 2nd place slot to qualify for team state after 10 of the 15 baker games but couldn’t close the gap and came up short of qualifying for state. The girls bowled well fir the 10 baker games and just ran out of steam for the last few baker games. I am very proud of how the girls kept improving with each meet and practice during this season.

Although the team didn’t qualify for team state, Sidney Thompson finished in 4th place and qualified for the girls state individual competition with a 544 Series. Sidney has really worked hard and improved as the season progressed; it all paid off for her with a trip to State.

Kaylee Haugen and Ava Ridenour both had their chances to finish inside the top 8 to qualify for state but couldn’t string any strikes together or get a break in the last game and came up short of qualifying.
