Indians Girls Swimming Claims Dual Win

by Jamie Brockman

The Oskaloosa Girls Swim team swam to an exciting 97-70 duel win at Fairfield Tuesday night.

Coach Makenzie Kauffman said, “I’m so proud and happy for these girls. They showed incredible mindsets, and nothing was going to knock their focus off their goal. Each and every swimmer was an integral part of this win. These athletes showed true grit with almost all of them competing in four events and many competing in one event they’ve never swum before.”

Senior, Hannah Cassens, and Junior, Sophia Dykstra, both finished the night with four first-place finishes.

Sophomore, Shannon Linder had three first-place finishes and one second.

Oskaloosa has a busy start to their week traveling to Williamsburg Monday for a competitive five-team meet, then to Newton Tuesday for a duel.
