YOUNG AMBASSADORS WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Main Street Young Ambassador Contest winners were announced in a gala event at the Penn Central Mall Monday evening. All participants, ages three through kindergarten, of the Young Ambassadors Contest were introduced by Master of Ceremonies, Bob Ballard. Favorite songs of the children was provided by Bob Ballard of Spinners DJ. Beth Brostrom read a Christmas story to the children and Santa made a special appearance, with gifts for all the children.

“We have a record number of children participating this year, which is, of course exciting,” shared Emily Brown, Main Street Director. “The funds raised support the Main Street Lighted Christmas Parade, but each year, we also donate a portion of the funds to a local preschool. This year that is SIEDA Head Start.”

This year’s 2019 Young Ambassador Princess is Leah Marie Scholtus daughter of Emily and Cody Scholtus and the Young Ambassador Prince is Fitch Fee son of Chris and Madison Fee.

Those participating in addition to our winners are Abigail Garlinghouse, Amiyah Coleman, Ariella Haugen, Ashneer Cheema, Aubrey Lamb, Ava Jackman, Ava Kenney, Everlee Rogers, Gemma Lyman, Jayde DeGroot, J’Ceilia Ireland, Karsyn Mahaffey, Kayla Thomas, Leah Scholtus, Mallory Kenney, Raegan DeGroot, Rebecca Beuthien, Rose Bowers, Violet Terpstra, Willow Hahn-Lefler, Bently Krog, Brohdy Schutjer, Carter Wiley, Chaxton Brennon, Easton Denburger, Layne Mahaffey, Layton Van Renterghem, Lincoln Reisetter, Sawyer Whitlatch, Sterling Colter, Wyatt Sutton, and Zayden Allsup.

Gifts provided for all children were donated from local merchants which included Mahaska Drug, Hy-Vee, and Casey’s. All participants are invited to help spread the magic of Christmas by riding on the Clow Train in the Lighted Christmas Parade “Winter Nights & Magical Lights”, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 7 pm.
