WARRIORS FINISH AS NATIONAL RUNNERS-UP

Newton, KS – The Indian Hills Men’s Golf team brought home a runner-up finish at the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Men’s Golf National Championship on Friday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Warriors shot a 20-over, 1,173, just one stroke off the national title.
The Warriors battled throughout the duration of the four-day, four-round event to finish as the national runner-up. Indian Hills, seven-time national champions, have now finished either first or second 12 times in program history, all since 2000.
Indian Hills produced a pair of All-American performances in freshmen Miles Bollinger (Eagan, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) and Harry McArdle (Burren, Ireland/St. Colman’s College). Bollinger finished as the national runner-up with a 2-under par while McArdle placed fourth overall with a 1-over par.
The Warriors held the clubhouse lead after each of the first three days of competition before McLennan Community College (TX) surged on the final day at Sand Creek to edge the Warriors for the national title. Indian Hills fired round scores of 293-291-298-291-1,173 (+21) to take home the second-place finish.
Bollinger capped a remarkable freshman season for the Warriors with a dominant showing at the national championship. Bollinger posted round scores of 72-70-70-74-286 (-2) to become the 12th individual in program history to finish in the top-two of the individual leaderboard at the national championship.
Bollinger boasted a consistent presence throughout the tournament, opening the week by going 3-under through the first four holes of play on Tuesday. The freshman finished the week with a total of 11 birdies and one eagle to pace the Warriors.
McArdle was in contention for the medalist honor each of the four days of action. McArdle proved to be the clubhouse leader after each of the first two rounds before taking home the fourth-place finish. The freshman posted the third-most birdies on the week with 15, including six apiece in each of the first two rounds.
Sophomore Roman Roth (Wayland, IA/Washington) surged on the final day of action at Sand Creek, posting a team-best 2-under par in the fourth round. Roth tallied five birdies on the final day to pace the Warriors.
Sophomore Charlie Preston (Hampshire, United Kingdom/The Sixth Form College Farnborough) tied for 23rd overall for the Warriors with a 13-over par, tallying four birdies on the week.
Sophomore Freddie Surgey (Weybridge, England/Cobham Free School) aided the Warriors by tying for 36th overall on the week with a 16-over par. Fellow sophomore Nathan Pouchoulon (Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Georges Duby) rounded out the Warriors’ team scoring to contribute to the national runner-up performance.
Indian Hills has now placed inside the top-three team standings 11 times over the past 16 seasons.
Along with their All-American honors, both Bollinger and McArdle were named to the All-Tournament team, comprised of the top-18 individual finishers. Bollinger and McArdle became just the fourth set of teammates at Indian Hills to finish inside the top-four of the individual standings at the national championship in program history, joining Jose Ramirez and Gaspar Glaudas (2023), Jackson Bugdalski and Trevor Ullestad (2016) and Pat Stolpe and Brett Gallinger (2001).
