Students Nominated for 2018 Student Crystal Pillar Award from the Upper Midwest Emmy® Chapter

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – William Penn Digital Communication students received a Student Crystal Pillar nomination from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences – Upper Midwest Emmy® Chapter. The Digital Communication program submitted a video entry in the Sports: Live Events category that highlights the student’s football productions at Lacey Stadium in Oskaloosa. This annual competition recognizes excellence in media productions for college students in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and western Wisconsin.

“It’s special to see our Digital Communication program students be recognized for all of the hard work they put in learning how to produce professional and entertaining live television. At every position on the production team students enjoyed what they did and that’s really what this is all about. Our students also did such a great job this year with pre-production and live graphics that it makes their 2018 nomination very special,” said Doug Hoskins, Faculty Advisor for Live Event Productions.

William Penn Digital Communication students have been nominated for the Student Crystal Pillar Awards six out of the past seven years and last received the award in 2014 for their commercial Make A Statement.
