Strong Marks at Northwest Missouri State Open
Marysville, Mo.–The William Penn women’s track and field squad put up several impressive performances at the Northwest Missouri State Open Saturday.
Sade Myers (So., Honolulu, Hawaii, Elementary Education) and Alora Simmons (Fr., Newton, Iowa, Elementary Education) posted the best finishes as each earned silvers in their respective events. Myers took second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:27.14, while Simmons was runner-up in the high jump at 4-11.75.
Meaghan Foster (Fr., Centerville, Iowa, Undecided) was third twice, doing so in the shot put (41-5.75) and hammer (135-3).
Valinn McReynolds (Grad., Bellville, Texas, Master’s of Business Leadership) did well in the distance events with a pair of top-ten placings. She was seventh in the 1,500-meter run at 5:28.42 and eighth in the 5,000-meter run at 21:24.12.
Jazmine Epps (Fr., Princeton, Texas) headlined the sprinters as she was sixth in the 100-meter dash (13.21 seconds), while Jordan Machorro (Fr., Allen, Texas, Business Management) was also sixth in the discus (129-10). Lindsey Kimler (So., Dugway, Utah, Business Management) was tenth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.79 seconds.
