Sr. Officer Nick Langrabe was awarded Oskaloosa’s “Officer of the Year” on Monday.

From the City of Oskaloosa:

Senior Officer Nicholas Landgrebe joined the Oskaloosa Police Department December 1, 2014. In the past 4 years, Officer Landgrebe has become integrally involved in the Department’s activities. Officer Landgrebe has become involved in our evidence procedures, as well as teaching DARE to 5th graders. Officer Landgrebe has become an ILEA driving instructor in the past year, and helps train not only our Officers, but also new Officers being certified. He is currently the Secretary/Treasurer for our Department’s Iowa State Police Association chapter, and is a Field Training Officer.

In the past year, Officer Landgrebe has made multiple OWI arrests for impaired driving, and kept a close connection with Caleb Hammond while Hammond was battling cancer.

Officer Landgrebe makes it a point to stop and talk to children while he is on patrol whenever he is able, and has even been spotted playing catch with local children while on-duty, helping to ensure future connections with these children.

Officer Landgrebe was promoted to Senior Officer in September of this year due to his training responsibilities and work ethic, and he enjoys the love and respect of his 2 daughters (Chloe and Macy) and his girlfriend Chelsea, who are joining him here tonight.

Officer Nicholas Landgrebe has been chosen as the 2018 Officer of the Year for the Oskaloosa Police Department, and we congratulate him for this and encourage him to keep striving for excellence in everything that he does.
