Sheryl Ann Dannels, 62, of Beacon, died at her home in Beacon on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born February 3, 1961, in Quincy, Illinois. In March of 1969 she was adopted by Merle and Virginia Logan Kukuk.
In her younger years Sheryl was active in school activities, playing volleyball, basketball, and was a part of the choir and band. Sheryl also loved to dance. She earned her G.E.D. and continued her education at William Penn taking two years of business classes.
In 1986, she met Gary Dannels, the two of them were in love from first site. They were married on June 26, 2010, in Beacon, Iowa.
When Sheryl was young, she did childcare for friends and family. She spent the majority of her career helping Gary in their willow furniture business. Sheryl would help in all aspects of the business, from production, to sales, marketing, and bookkeeping. In addition to helping with the business she cared for her family and home.
Sheryl enjoyed crocheting, diamond painting, needlework, playing pool, riding on the motorcycle and trike with Gary, and fishing.
Her family includes her husband of 13 years, Gary Dannels of Beacon; four children: Andrea (& Jimmy) Fisher of Quincy, Illinois, Lindsey (& David) McAdoo of Newton, Samantha Miller of Monmouth, Illinois, and Michael Atwater of Rose Hill; a step daughter, Jessica (& Jamey) Stigers of Oskaloosa; numerous grandchildren; a sister, Debra (& Robert) Lahvic of Knoxville; two brothers: Donald Bennett of Quincy, Illinios, and John and Lisa Kukuk; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Kari Lahvic; and a great niece, Naomi Wooldridge.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date at The Rock Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Paul Williams officiating.
As was Sheryl’s wish, her body has been cremated and no visitation is planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
