Robert Carruthers, 60, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at his home in Oskaloosa. Robert R. Carruthers, son of William and Joyce (McMullen) Carruthers, was born November 21, 1962 in Oskaloosa.

Growing up, Robert attended Oskaloosa High School and later obtained his G.E.D. from Ottumwa. Robert continued his educating later by becoming an E.M.T.

Robert joined the United States Army and served his country for multiple years. After his discharge, he returned home and worked for Clow Valve for a short time, before starting at McKee Coin in the family business. Robert truly loved his work at McKee coins and being in the family business.

Robert’s family includes his daughter, Tabatha Carruthers of Oskaloosa; two brothers: Terry Carruthers of Nebraska and Darren Carruthers of Oskaloosa; an uncle, Clarence McKee of Oskaloosa; and many extended family members.

As was his wish, Robert’s body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
