Quartet of Women’s Golfers Named Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa–Four Statesmen women’s golfers were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2017-2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes Thursday.
Helene Larsen (Jr., Viborg, Denmark, Business Management), Alyssa Kerry (Jr., Bend, Ore., Communications), Megan Rhoads (Jr., Schertz, Texas, Psychology), and Elise Warne (Jr., Melbourne, Australia, Exercise Science) all earned the laurel for the first time in their careers.
Entering the spring semester, Larsen led the crew with a 3.93 Grade Point Average in Business Management, while Rhoads was next with a 3.75 GPA in Psychology. Kerry had a 3.61 GPA in Communications, and Warne owned a 3.52 GPA in Exercise Science.
A total of 156 women’s golfers from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
