Montezuma. Punk Taylor, 58 of Montezuma passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 in Montezuma. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will begin after 11:00 am Wednesday, February 16, 2011 with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the family’s name to be named later.

Gearold “Punk” Earl Taylor son of Earl and Mary Virginia (Johnson) Taylor was born on February 1, 1954 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a 1972 graduate of Montezuma High School. On November 29, 1975, Punk was united in marriage to Bonnie Altemeier. To this union two children were born, Malinda and Nick. Punk was employed at Sig Manufacturing and Manatt’s before working at Bushong Construction for 17 years. He also drove truck for PCI, Sheets Excavating and Taylor & Taylor Trucking. Punk enjoyed NASCAR, camping; especially at the Iowa State Fair, grinding horseradish, spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.

He is survived by his children; Malinda (Brent) Slings of Montezuma and Nick Taylor of Montezuma; four grandchildren, Makayla Slings, Lauren Slings, Blake Slings and Dominque Taylor; three brothers, Charles Taylor of New Sharon, Jack (Lana) Taylor of Montezuma and Bill (Alice) Taylor of Montezuma; one sister, Linda (Chuck) Boeding of Montezuma and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Punk was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Virginia Taylor and a grandson; Jeramiha Taylor.
