Paul Vincent Beltz, age 66, of Keomah Village, Iowa, passed away on, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home in Keomah Village. He was born on April 24, 1957, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Lucinda (Smith) Beltz. He was the youngest of 8 children.
Paul was united in marriage to Sandra Dorman. To this union two children were born, Zachary and Libby. Years later Paul and Sandra divorced. He was then united in marriage to Mary Davis for several years until they divorced. Paul then found companionship with Sandy Whitfield until she passed away in 2020. Later in life Paul began dating his current partner, Stacie VanWeelden.
Paul began his early working life in restaurant management. He moved to Oskaloosa in 1987 and began working at Rolscreen (Pella Corp) while still working in the restaurant business on weekends. In 2007, Paul began working for B&B Bedding-Old Castle in Oskaloosa and was currently employed there at the time of his passing.
Paul enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting and taking his Corvette for a drive. He loved living out by the lake and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a loyal friend who would always help others in any way he could. Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. He has a soft spot for cats, especially his beloved cat of 22 years, Riley. Paul was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking pies, feeding whoever was hungry and enjoyed taking meals over to his elderly neighbors. Above all else, Paul was a family man who loved and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Zachary (Valerie Edel) Beltz and Libby (Andrea LaRonde) Beltz; a granddaughter, Amaya Beltz; his bonus grandchildren: Brantley Shepard, Ashlyn Shepard and Haiden Shepard; his stepchildren: Andy (Nikki) Stock, Stacey Whitfield, Kristine Whitfield and their families; and his siblings, Daniel Beltz and Mavis Rossie.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Sandy Whitfield; and his siblings, Floraine “Rene” Lloyd, Betty Perry, Raymond “Dean” Beltz, Jack Beltz and Shirley Beltz.
As was his wish, Paul’s body will be cremated. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Paul’s family present from 1:00 p.m-3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon to greet friends and relatives. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
