Oskaloosa’s Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday, December 7th “Winter Nights & Magical Lights”

The William Penn Band's 'Snow Globe' float got a lot of attention on Thursday evening during the annual Lighted Christmas Parade.

From the twinkling strings that sparkle on our Christmas trees, to the glowing strands that adorn our homes – magical lights brighten our holidays, and remind us to be merry all season long.

The Mahaska community has so many bright points to celebrate – our schools, local businesses and organizations, and many wonderful citizens. Parade participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from these bright points, as well as from Painting with Lights and other “magical” light displays.

The Oskaloosa community is celebrating its dodransbicentennial, or 175th anniversary in 2019, so this could also be a point of inspiration for Oskaloosa based businesses in the parade.

As a reminder, all Mahaska community businesses, organizations, and individuals are welcomed to be a part of the Lighted Christmas Parade. Questions about how to get involved can be directed to the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group office at 641-672-2591.

Applications for parade entries will be released later this year. More information on holiday events including the parade will be available at www.oacdg.org/events as the event approaches.
Any questions regarding the Christmas Parade and Chamber hosted holiday events may be directed Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group office at 641-672-2591.
