OSKALOOSA STUDENTS EARN TOP FINISHES AT SIMPSON COLLEGE MATH COMPETITION

INDIANOLA — A group of 15 Oskaloosa High School students traveled to Simpson College last Wednesday to compete in the LHC Math Competition, spending the morning solving problems and working together as teams.

The event focused on math skills, teamwork, and discussion, giving students a chance to test their knowledge against other schools.

Oskaloosa had strong results in the team competitions.

The 10th grade team of Dylan Pierson, Marshall Overturf, Ian Rosvold, and Noelle Larson placed second in the Grade-Level Team Exam.

The 12th grade team of Leah Cohrt, Zander Bunnell, and Brock Beerbower earned a third-place finish.

Advisors said the competition is always a valuable experience, allowing students to collaborate, think through challenging problems, and represent their school.
