Merry Little Downtown Christmas | December 1, 2018 | 5-8 PM

On Saturday, December 1st from 5-8 PM, break that cabin fever with a trip to downtown Oskaloosa for holiday fun and festivities.

Visit City Square Park, get your photo taken with Santa, reindeer, and other Christmas characters from Mahaska Drug, and enjoy fun Christmas crafts while you wait!

Take a free horse-drawn wagon ride through downtown and see all the holiday happenings and beautiful Christmas decorations under the glow of Painting with Lights.

Ice sculptor Bill Gordish will be creating not one, but two holiday-themed pieces over the course of the night, with Musco lighting the process for all to see.

Stop in and visit downtown retailers to find unique gifts for those special people on your list, and stop into the Holiday Market inside Penn Central Mall to shop vendors. Style Me Crazy will have a pop-up boutique in Smokey Row, and Heather Hoven’s LuLaRoe trailer will be set up on the square.

Visit the Oskaloosa Art Center for their Holiday Art Show from 4 – 6 PM, and Winter Melodies Music event from 2 – 6 PM.

Feeling famished? Grab a bite to eat at any of the wonderful downtown restaurants, or stop by Sno Biz and Wanderlunch for supper! Stop into The Alley for mulled wine (must be 21+) and hot apple cider. Dip into Smokey Row and warm up with a hot drink while you enjoy live music on the Smokey Row stage from 5-7 PM.

Bundle up and head downtown, Saturday, December 1st for fun and festivities during the second annual Merry Little Downtown Christmas.

Free will donations will be collected throughout the event with all proceeds supporting Painting with Lights, Oskaloosa’s holiday lighting display.
