OSKALOOSA GIRLS TRACK TAKES SECOND AT FORT MADISON MEET
Fort Madison, Iowa — The Oskaloosa girls track and field team turned in a strong performance Tuesday night, finishing second at the Fort Madison meet with 117 team points.
The weather was ideal for competition, with warm temperatures and a light breeze helping set the stage for a solid night of results.
Leading the way once again was Tierney Carter. She won both the 400-meter dash and the 400-meter hurdles. Carter also took second place in the high jump and helped lead the sprint medley relay team to a first-place finish. The relay team included Monica Hundley, Vivian Bolibaugh, Delaney Harbour, and Carter.
Kennedy Wright had a strong night as well. She earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles and set a new personal record in the event. She also recorded a personal record in the high jump.
Several third-place finishes helped boost the team score. Delaney Harbour placed third in both the 400-meter dash and the long jump. The 4×800 relay team of Ella Walter, Serigha Lappin, Mia Luck, and Hazel Adam also finished third. The 4×200 relay team of Monica Hundley, Vanessa Beadle, Alyssa Sheets, and Vivian Bolibaugh added another third-place finish.
In total, the team recorded nine personal records on the night. Kennedy Wright improved in both the high jump and 400-meter hurdles. Vivian Bolibaugh set a personal record in the 200-meter dash. Hazel Adam did the same in the 1500-meter run, and Ella Walter set a personal record in the 800-meter run. Additional improvements came in relay splits, including Adam in the 4×800, Mia Luck in the distance medley relay, and strong efforts in the 4×400 relay from Beadle, Walter, and Wright.
The coaching staff said they are proud of the progress the team has made so far this season.
