Oskaloosa Girls Bowling Team Makes History with First-Ever Conference Tournament Title

The Oskaloosa High School girls bowling team continues to make waves this season, capturing their first-ever conference tournament championship in dominant fashion. Competing against 10 other teams, the Osky girls delivered an impressive performance, averaging 165 over 15 Baker games—well above their season average of 147.

In addition to claiming the team title, Oskaloosa also avenged their only loss of the season by defeating Sigourney, which finished in second place. Newton rounded out the top three in the highly competitive tournament. The win marked a milestone achievement for the program, as the team came together at the perfect time to achieve their goal of becoming conference champions.

Following the team tournament, the Oskaloosa girls competed in the individual conference tournament, where several bowlers delivered standout performances. Sidney Thompson led the way with a third-place finish, securing a medal. Abby Tarr had a career-best performance, rolling games of 211, 169, and 193 for a 573 series to finish in fourth place. Ava Ridenour followed closely behind in fifth with a 546 series. Regan Abrahamson delivered a highlight moment of the day, recording the highest game of the conference tournament and her personal season-best with a 266 in her final game, finishing with a 538 series.

With the postseason fast approaching, the Oskaloosa girl’s bowling team is peaking at the right time.
