Oskaloosa Community School District Chooses Paper to Provide 24/7 On-Demand Tutoring to all

The District is the First in Iowa to Provide Free, Unlimited Tutoring to Students
OSKALOOSA, IA, Feb 28, 2022 – Oskaloosa Community School District has partnered with Paper, a tutoring company on a mission to empower all students to achieve success with equitable access to academic support. This partnership provides unlimited, 24/7 tutoring to all 1,000 students in grades 6-12—at no cost to families.

“Paper is a critical resource that meets our district’s needs for students, parents, and teachers,” said Angie Hanson, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “By being there outside of school hours—when parents and teachers oftentimes can’t—this partnership ensures that our students have access to academic support when, where, and how they need it.”

Paper partners with school districts to provide live, on-demand, multilingual academic support across all subject areas. Whether students are stuck on homework, studying for a test, or need someone to read and make suggestions to their essays, tutors are always available online to assist students via a secure, chat-based platform. Going far beyond what schools, private tutoring, and guardians are able to provide, Paper puts academic support at every students’ fingertips where, when, how, and for as long as they need it.
“Paper can even offer an extra layer of support to students inside the classroom, during school hours when our teachers are working with multiple students,” added Hanson. “We’re hopeful that this partnership will increase assignment completion rates and improve students’ overall learning of the standards, especially in the areas of math and reading.”

All student-tutor interactions are recorded and accessible to teachers, and Paper provides data analytics that will provide Oskaloosa Community School District educators with insight into learning gaps and give district administrators a better understanding of where support is needed.
