Oskaloosa Boys Golf Wins Newton Invite For Second Win

Newton, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Boys Golf teams scored a victory over Newton and Norwalk this week. Newton shot a 198, while Norwalk shot a 162. Oskaloosa pulled off the win by 1, shooting a 161.

Spencer Tucker lead all golfers with a 33, while Norwalks Riley Jermier scored a 38. Norwalk’s Tanner Dunn and Max Sutcliffe each had a 41, while Oskaloosa’s Noah Van Veldhuizen had a 42.

Oskaloosa Head Coach Bret Foster said, “The boys played well in tough conditions tonight and pulled off a good win in a triangular with Norwalk and Newton. Spencer Tucker had an amazing round, shooting 3-under and the rest of the guys battled hard in the cold and wind to pull it off. Norwalk was at the state tournament last year so that is a solid win in our first meet of the year. It’s always good to start the conference season off 2-0 to boot.”
