OHS Girls Place 3rd At East Marshall Meet
Oskaloosa Head Coach Betsy Luck commented on the team’s effort. “What a great night for a track meet! The weather along with the team’s great attitude brought seven personal records and two season-best relays. Not just by a little but three events with over 20-second improvements!! Leah Wilcox and Anniston McDougall in the 3000 and the Distance Medley Relay (Kelderman, Wiltse, Allen, Coon)!! Other personal records were set; by Sophia Dykstra in the disc, Ava VandeWall in the 400 hurdles, Haley Westercamp in the 400 m, Sierra Worthington in both the shot and disc and the Sprint Medley Relay.
There were two individual champions for the Indians tonight: Emma Kelderman in the 400 hurdles and the Sprint Medley Relay (Allen, VandeWall, Wiltse & Kelderman)
With only 15 girls competing we finished in 3rd place only 5 points out of 1st. We leave three relays completely open due to the small size of our team and were still in the hunt for the team championship.
The coaches can’t say enough about the work ethic, team-work and positive attitudes of all of the members of this team! We are very proud of their efforts tonight.
The girls will be back to competing on Monday night at Bondurant.
