Lynn Herrick Sr., age 97, of Delta, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Ottumwa Good Samaritan and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 9, 1913 in Delta to William Arthur “Butler” and Ida (Fear) Herrick. He graduated from Delta High School, class of 1930.

Lynn married Helen Hauschild on June 21, 1933. To this union three children were born: Gilbert, Verna, and Dean. Helen died on March 4th, 1997. He was a farmer throughout his life, and also hauled crème in one of the first power wagons. He was a member of the Old Threshers, and enjoyed antique cars.

He is survived by his children: Gilbert (Sandra) Herrick of Oskaloosa, Dean (Linda) Herrick of Ottumwa, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and special daughter-in-law, Martha Landers. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Verna Landers, one son-in-law, Harry Landers, and one granddaughter, Benita Herrick

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011, at the Delta United Methodist Church with Rev. Vince Homan officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
