Laura Fields
July 5, 1965 – August 7, 2023
Albia (Oskaloosa), Iowa | Age 58
Laura Fields, 58, of Albia, and previously Oskaloosa, died on August 7, 2023. Laura was born July 5, 1965, to parents Buster and Shirley Fields.
Laura grew up in Rose Hill. She went to the Rose Hill country school in the early days while later attending Oskaloosa High School with the Class of 1984.
Laura spent most of her adult life in Oskaloosa working various jobs. She moved to Albia in 2007 where she worked at Hardee’s for several years. She loved talking with the morning and afternoon coffee crews.
Laura was a proud member of the Eagles Club in Osky and Albia.
Laura will be remembered as friendly, outgoing and as someone who loved to have a good time. The pride and joy of her life were her kids and grandkids. She could proudly say she was there for the birth of each of her grandchildren and spent every possible minute playing, loving and spoiling them.
Laura was especially close with her son, Jessie, as the girls were already grown up and out of the house. There weren’t many summer days you couldn’t find them fishing at the rez or hunting mushrooms in the fresh spring air. Laura was an avid lover and collector of Ladybugs. No one in her family could come across anything with a ladybug and not get it for her.
Laura is survived by her three kids; Nikki Lynch of Hedrick, Felicia Scholtus-Lucas of Story City and Jessie Fields of Oskaloosa; her beloved grandkids; Jenna and Reagan, Maddi, Jerry and Riley and Andrew; sisters and brothers: Betsy Eggers of Beaman, Charlie Moore, Jerry Fields, and DeAnne Basham of Osky, Jim Fields of Ottumwa and Dave Fields of Green City, Missouri;
Along with many nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.
She will be joined in Heaven by her parents; Buster and Shirley Fields; and her brother, Rick Moore.
We can all be at peace knowing she gained her Ladybug wings and is now free of pain that was her earthly body.
