Keith Allen Nollen, 78, of Pella and formerly of rural Albia, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born on May 25, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was adopted by Herman and Opal Lust Nollen as an infant.

He attended Flint Ridge Country School near Pella through 8th grade. He went on to Pella High School and graduated with the class of 1963. Keith had a lifelong love of learning and continued his formal education at Central College earning his degree from there in 1968.

On August 6, 1966, he was united in marriage to Gloria Hugen at the Central Reformed Church in Oskaloosa.

After the two of them graduated from Central they moved to Omaha where Keith taught at Benson High School. While teaching he took classes at University of Nebraska and completed his master’s degree in Geography and Geology. In 1973, the family moved to a farm near Albia, Iowa. Being a lifelong learner Keith believed that he could always be a better steward of the Lord’s blessings through learning and research. In 2010, Keith and Gloria moved to Pella, but he still worked on the farm everyday with his son Marc. In 2016, he slowed down on his daily visits but always looked forward to discussing the farm operation with Marc.

Keith was a faithful member of Central Church where he had served as an Elder and Deacon. He enjoyed camping with family and friends, traveling, and reading. Most of all he always looked forward to spending time with his family. He lived his faith through his devotion to his family and trust in the Lord while farming, always believing the Lord would take care of them.
