John Clyde Tolles, son of Floyd and Ann Gerard Tolles, was born, October 15, 1949, in Oskaloosa. John attended Oskaloosa High School. In his early twenties he moved to Kansas City where he lived for a few years before returning to Oskaloosa. In 1976, John moved to Chillicothe, Ohio where he continued his career as cook. He was working at a Red Lobster Restaurant at the time of his death. John enjoyed spending time with his family as well as fishing, playing and watching golf and watching football, he was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed music, mainly Elvis and the Beatles music and he also collected Elvis and Beatles memorabilia.
His family includes a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Richard Iseton of University Park; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Loretta Tolles of Rose Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Connie Sue Tolles, who died at birth; and two brothers, Gary and Junior “Floyd” Tolles.
Visitation: will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. A procession will form at 10 a.m. to travel to the cemetery.
Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 at Old Rose Hill Cemetery near Rose Hill, Iowa.
John died very suddenly while at work at the Red Lobster Restaurant in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was 63 years and 26 days of age.
