Icel Molyneux, 97, of Tiffin, Iowa, and formerly of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Tiffin. She was born August 4, 1925, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Myrtle Christy Daugherty.

Icel graduated from Cedar High School in 1944.

On September 5, 1943, she was united in marriage to Cleo Molyneux in Beacon, Iowa. To this union a daughter Patricia was born.

Icel and Cleo farmed in the Rose Hill and What Cheer areas. Once her daughter Pat was in high school Icel took a job at Binns and Stevens in Oskaloosa. She worked there until her retirement in 1985. In 1978, they retired from the farm and moved into Oskaloosa.

Cleo died on November 21, 2010, after over 67 years of marriage. Icel continued to live in Oskaloosa until 2017, when she moved to Tiffin to be closer to her daughter.

Icel was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and made countless doilies and hot pads.

Her family includes her daughter, Patricia Francisco of Tiffin; two grandchildren, Nicholas (& Sacha) Francisco and Natalie (& Pete) Miller; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband Cleo, Icel was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Saturday, May 13 at 10:30 AM in the Indianapolis Cemetery near What Cheer, Iowa.
The family will be at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Saturday from 9:00 -10:00 am to greet friends and relatives.
At 10:00 AM a procession will form at the funeral home for those attending the graveside service.
Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.
