HELP LIGHT UP THE TOWN!

With the summer season waning, the holidays are drawing ever closer. The Seasonal Decorations Committee of Oskaloosa Main Street is responsible for the planning that goes into downtown holiday décor each year, including Painting with Lights.

Painting with Lights – Oskaloosa’s brilliant, downtown, holiday light display will go up for the third year this winter. For the community and visitors, the lights may seem to just appear, but the Seasonal Decorations Committee and staff at the Chamber know that “turning on the lights” is an ongoing effort. The light display is funded entirely by donations from local businesses and individuals, as well as proceeds from events like Christmas in July and Merry Little Downtown Christmas.

This year, the “Help Light Up the Town” Raffle Ticket Fundraiser will provide the community with another fun way to contribute to the Painting with Lights project.

There are 30 awesome prizes up for grabs, ranging from tickets to various shows at the Civic Center, a big screen movie party in your backyard, numerous gift cards from area businesses, a 45 can Yeti Tundra Haul Cooler, and the featured prize – to have your home or business Painted with Lights!

Raffle Tickets are available for purchase at the Oskaloosa Chamber office, Book Vault, and Mahaska Drug. Tickets may be purchased 1 for $10 or 5 for $40. A complete list of prizes is posted at all ticket sale locations. Tickets will be available for purchase through October 9th, with drawings scheduled for October 10th.

All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will go towards maintenance and future expansion of the Painting with Lights Project. For more information on raffle prizes, rules, etc. contact Emily Brown, Oskaloosa Main Street Director at the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group.
