Grinnell’s Elisha Tibatemwa sets another Ugandan national record at Commonwealth Games
OLD COAST, Queensland, Australia – A few days after setting one Ugandan national record, Grinnell College swimmer Elisha Tibatemwa ’21 has done it again.
Tibatemwa established a new Ugandan mark in the 50-meter freestyle today at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He swam the event in 24.93 to place third in his heat at the Optus Acquatic Center. That breaks the previous best of 25.54.
Earlier at the Games, Tibatemwa set a national record in the 50 butterfly with his time of 27.17.
