OSKALOOSA, IA — The George Daily Auditorium is excited to announce the 2018-2019 Professional Season! There’s a little something for everyone, so join us this year as we revisit some of our favorite companies in recent memory and welcome brand-new ones!

The season kicks off on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 with “Artrageous,” a show combining live painting, music, and dance that pays tribute to a variety of art forms, pop icons, and musical genres. This paint-splattered group is back with the same dazzling style and plenty of new tricks.

“Live From WVL Radio Theatre: The Headless Hessian Of Sleepy Hollow (And Other American Horror Stories)” is on Monday, October 29, 2018. The company presented “It’s A Wonderful Life” and is back with a series of classic American horror stories, including ones by Edgar Allen Poe, the Lizzie Borden murders, and Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

On Wednesday, November 14, 2018, “A Salute to Glen Campbell” hits the stage! Enjoy a heartwarming evening of Glen’s biggest hits and the stories behind them, all delivered by Glen’s right-hand man for 15 years, band leader and guitarist Jeff Dayton. The audience will share in the joys and fun, as well as the stories behind the songs.

Get in the holiday spirits with “Junie B. in Jingle Bells Batman Smells” on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Everyone’s favorite first grader wants to enjoy Room One’s party, but she’s drawn the name of her arch nemesis, Tattletale May, for Secret Santa. But wait – is this the perfect opportunity for Junie B. to give her exactly what she deserves?

Missoula Children’s Theatre returns for the 20th consecutive year with King Arthur’s Quest. Auditions on Monday, January 14, 2019 will cast 60 students in K-12th grade for two performances on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

The season ends with Ted Vigil’s John Denver Musical Tribute on Wednesday, March 27. He’s not an impersonator but pays homage with a polished, energetic performance of some of the world’s most popular music. Ted wows audiences all over the world with his tribute to John Denver.

Tickets and season tickets are available now! A season ticket guarantees you a seat of your choice to all the shows in the professional touring season at a 10% discount. Season tickets are $105 for adults and $45 for students. Tickets are available at www.georgedaily.org or by contacting the box office.

Each year, it costs over $150,000 to operate the George Daily Auditorium and all our programs. Ticket sales, sponsorships, and grants help but don’t cover all our expenses. Between dollars spent by the auditorium, its employees, and our audience members locally, we bring an estimated $232,783 to Mahaska County. Our equipment and technical expertise serve community forums like Eggs & Issues, as well as Oskaloosa, New Sharon, EBF, and Moravia schools. Our impact on Mahaska County isn’t just arts-related; we improve the quality of life of our community. These opportunities are only made possible through the generous support of our Friends of the Auditorium. Friends of the Auditorium supports the professional season, the George Daily Youth Theatre, educational outreach opportunities, culture, education, and entertainment for an entire region. Make your tax-deductible donation at www.georgedaily.org or mail it to George Daily Auditorium, 1800 N 3rd St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577.
