Dorothy Eileen Thompson, age 79, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on March 11, 2024, at the Northern Mahaska Specialty Care facility in Oskaloosa under hospice care. She was born on January 31, 1945, in Farson, Iowa, the daughter of Adrian and Gleda (Grissom) Riley.

She attended Pekin High School and graduated with the Class of 1964.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Don Thompson in 1964. Years later they divorced.

Dorothy worked for Pella Manufacturing. She later took a job at the Oskaloosa Hospital and retired in 2010 after 15 years.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing cards and Bingo with the girls and also enjoyed doing diamond art.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Rusty) Feagins of Fort Madison, Larry (Shannon) Thompson of Iowa and Donnie Thompson of Kalona; her grandchildren, Marc Feagins, Jordyn Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Devon Thompson, David Thompson, Quentin Thompson, Vicki and Alicia Thompson; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandchildren, Brad Feagins and Michael; and her siblings, Earl Riley, Lloyd Riley, Melvin Riley, Larry Riley and Helen Fitzgerald.

As was her wish, her body will be cremated.

The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
