Cross Phillips
Batavia. Cross Lucchese Phillips one month old son of Todd and Krystal Phillips went to be with Jesus while in his parents’ loving arms on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines. He was born May 3, 2024, in Oskaloosa seventeen weeks before his due date. He was immediately taken to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where his parents and family prayed for his progress and the Medical Team exhausted every resource to help him survive. Cross touched many lives in his short time here and was such a fighter with a strong will to live. He was truly loved and cared for by his parents, his sister, grandparents, and extended family.
Surviving are his parents, Todd and Krystal Phillips of Batavia; his sister, Laney Grace Phillips of Batavia; maternal grandmother, Linda Selby of Batavia; paternal grandmother, Connie Phillips of Martinsburg; aunts and uncles, Nicole and Bill Louderback of Drakesville, Clarissa and Todd Reitzler of Grinnell; and Scott Phillips of Martinsburg; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dennis Selby; paternal grandfather, Richard Phillips, Sr.; and an uncle, Richard Phillips, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God Church in Ottumwa on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Richard Schlotter officiating.
