Beverly Gayle Billick, age 83, of Oskaloosa, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa. She was born on July 25, 1939 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Arthur C. and Marguerite B. (Cook) Shinofield.

Beverly attended Oskaloosa High School and graduated with the Class of 1957.

On September 9, 1961, she was united in marriage to Terry B. Billick in Oskaloosa. They shared 38 years of marriage together until Terry passed away in December of 1999.

Beverly began working at Fareway in Oskaloosa in the 1960’s and enjoyed working there for several years. In 1979 she went to work at the Work Force Development Office (formerly Job Services of Iowa) and continued working there until retiring in 2002.

Beverly was an avid reader and she also enjoyed going out to lunch and taking walks with her friends. She had many hobbies, including drawing and crafting. Beverly also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kristi (& Sam) McPherren and Marla Billick both of Oskaloosa; her grandchildren, Ayla Billick, Devin (& Jessica) Houser, Ryan (& Allison) McPherren and Patrick McPherren (& Chelsea Johnson); a brother, Larry (& Karen) Shinofield of Colorado; her sister, Connie Moffett of Colorado; a special aunt, Laura Cook; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry; a brother, Ron Shinofield; and a sister, Debbie Menninga.

As was her wish, Beverly’s body has been cremated and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Reverend Molly Goodrich Officiating. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.
