Animal Tracks make mark at the Library

Mahaska County Naturalist Laura DeCook make a presentation at Oskaloosa Public Library called “Animal Tracks”. This event showcased the different animals that call Iowa home.

There was a story time, she read the book Moose Tracks. It is the story is a fun story that leave a surprise for the reader till the end. Well illustrated and enjoyable. For kids kindergarten to 2nd.

She showed pelts of various animals, and shared molds of different animals that share the land with us locally. There was a bobcat, red and grey fox, deer, beaver, skunk and many other displays that visitors were able to touch and see. She went into some detail about what habitat you would be able to find the various animals. Explained how to preserve tracks one might find while in the woods hiking.
